Designed for extra-thick, specialist cardstock (400gsm and above), this exquisite technique marries the traditional art of letterpress with the brilliance of foil stamping. By pressing text or logos deep into the paper’s fibres while simultaneously applying metallic foil, we create a finish that is as striking to the eye as it is tactile to the touch.
Unlike flat digital printing, our metallic foils react to the environment. As your client tilts the card, the debossed foil captures the light, shifting from a subtle shimmer to a brilliant glow. What printing method do we use?
Hot Foil business cards are produced using a custom-made magnesium die, created specifically for your design. The magnesium die is then mounted on a press that applies heat and pressure to transfer the foil onto the board. Foil stamping is a fine craft – this manual die-based application method delivers truly spectacular results, with exceptional depth and detail that far surpass any other metallic application technique.
Can I use any graphics in the design?
No. Smaller elements will be hard to read while the large ones will damage the cardstock.
What information can be included on the business cards?
You can include any information relevant to your business – such as name, job title, phone number, email address, physical address, website, or even a personal photo. QR codes ar not recomended.
Can the dies be reused?
Yes. The magnesium dies can be reused for future orders.

Please note that front side only business cards are offered on 360gsm cardsock – only highest quality, and our double-sided letterpress & foil cards come as standard on 600gsm multi-layer board.
Please note that the rates above exclude the cost of hot foil stamping dies (£30 per unit). For a larger number of dies we will offer discounts.
For context, a double-sided gold foil business card would require two separate dies. The stamping dies are made of magnesium and are reusable for your next orders.
Lead times may fluctuate depending on current production volumes.
